Sustainability

Delivering energy responsibly, at every point of transfer.

MTG Petroleum LLC supplies refined petroleum products to wholesale customers through a disciplined network of independent terminals, pipelines and marine carriers. We hold ourselves to the operating, compliance and governance standards expected of the industry's leading companies, and we report on our progress with transparency.

Our Approach

MTG Petroleum is dedicated to meeting today's demand for refined fuels while preparing responsibly for the market ahead. Five commitments, set out below, guide how we source, store and deliver product, and how we strengthen the resilience of our supply chain, our partners and the communities along our routes.

As a supply and trading company, our greatest influence lies across the value chain: in the partners we select, the specifications we enforce and the controls we apply to every transaction.

Our Sustainability Framework

Five strategic pillars guide our decisions across every cargo, contract and counterparty relationship.

01

Product Stewardship

Enforcing contractual specifications and independent third-party inspection so every product we deliver meets quality and regulatory standards.

02

Ethics & Counterparty Integrity

Applying rigorous KYC, anti-money-laundering, sanctions and document-authenticity controls to every customer, supplier and intermediary.

03

Safe & Reliable Operations

Partnering only with regulated terminal, pipeline and marine operators that maintain robust safety and environmental management systems.

04

Regulatory Excellence

Maintaining full compliance with federal excise, environmental and state licensing requirements in every market we serve.

05

Energy Transition

Positioning our supply portfolio to meet evolving customer demand for renewable and lower-carbon fuels.

Message from Leadership
At MTG Petroleum, sustainability begins with how we do business: with integrity, discipline and accountability at every transaction. We deliver on that commitment by holding our partners to the highest safety and environmental standards, verifying every counterparty and cargo we handle, and building the capabilities our customers will need as the energy market evolves. That is how we earn trust today and create lasting value for tomorrow.

Strategic Priorities

Operational Excellence

  • Formalizing written policies for compliance, product quality and partner selection
  • Building a vetted network of terminal, inspection and shipping partners
  • Developing long-term supply agreements that give customers price and volume certainty
  • Implementing transaction-management systems that support audit and reporting

Positioning for the Future

  • Evaluating renewable diesel and biodiesel supply opportunities
  • Monitoring carbon-intensity and low-carbon fuel standards in our target markets
  • Exploring blending and lower-carbon fuel partnerships
  • Building data systems to measure the emissions footprint of our supply chain

Stakeholder Engagement

Our business depends on relationships: with the customers we supply, the partners who store and transport our product, the authorities who oversee our industry, and the communities where our cargoes are loaded, stored and delivered. We engage each of them openly and consistently, because durable trust is what makes reliable supply possible.

Customers

We learn each customer's supply requirements, communicate clearly on scheduling and specifications, and act on their feedback to improve how we serve them.

Supply & Logistics Partners

We review partner performance regularly and favor those who invest in the safety and well-being of the communities around their facilities.

Regulators & Authorities

We maintain open, timely communication with tax, customs and environmental authorities and respond promptly to every inquiry.

Communities

Where our product moves, we aim to be a responsible presence and to support local organizations. [Add specific community initiatives here.]

Supplier Opportunity

We believe a broad, competitive supplier base makes for a stronger business. MTG Petroleum welcomes small and diverse businesses to compete for our service contracts and evaluates every vendor on the same fair and transparent criteria.

We treat every stakeholder fairly and with respect, regardless of background, location or the size of their business.

Sustainability Governance

A clear structure of accountability, from ownership to the trading desk, governs how we manage sustainability and compliance risk.

Managing Members
Hold ultimate responsibility for MTG Petroleum's sustainability and compliance strategy. The Managing Members approve the company's risk appetite, policies and annual disclosures, and review progress against our commitments at least once a year.
Executive Leadership
Translates strategy into operating decisions. Leadership approves new markets, counterparties and logistics partners, allocates resources to sustainability priorities, and is accountable for reporting company performance.
Compliance & Risk Committee
Oversees the controls that protect every transaction, including KYC, sanctions and anti-money-laundering screening, document verification and partner due diligence. The committee issues formal written determinations and has authority to suspend any transaction that does not meet our standards.
Operating Teams
Trading, logistics and operations staff apply our standards day to day. They nominate approved inspectors, terminals and carriers, execute within established limits, and maintain a complete, auditable record of every transaction.

Environmental Stewardship

We work to minimize the environmental footprint of the products we move by holding every stage of our supply chain to demanding standards.

Spill Prevention & Response

We store product only at terminals with secondary containment and federal spill prevention, control and countermeasure plans, and confirm those programs before nominating storage.

Transportation Emissions

We favor pipeline and bulk marine movements over truck transport where economically viable, reducing both emissions and incident risk per gallon delivered.

Product Loss Management

Volumes are measured at every transfer, keeping losses visible and driving continuous improvement with our terminal and shipping partners.

Traceability & Recordkeeping
Certificates of quality, inspection reports and title documentation are retained for every transaction, so product origin and specification are always verifiable.
