Who We Are
MTG Petroleum is a Wyoming limited liability company formed to bring disciplined, compliance-first trading to the wholesale fuel market. We source refined products from established refiners and trading houses and supply them to distributors, industrial users, marine operators and aviation fuel suppliers.

Market Trade Group
Our parent company, Market Trade Group LLC, is a Virginia-based financial advisory and trade finance firm working across petroleum trading, trade finance, M&A and project finance advisory, and counterparty fraud screening. That experience in vetting counterparties and trade documents is built into how MTG Petroleum does business from day one.

Robert A. Butler Jr.
Seasoned financial executive with more than 40 years in the financial industry and over 12 years as Chief Executive Officer of Market Trade Group. Directs MTG Petroleum, the company’s fuel division, with hands-on leadership of petroleum and fuel transactions. Known for structuring complex deals, building trusted relationships with buyers, sellers and financial partners, and steering an organization through changing markets.
